Copenhagen, June 2005

View the press release as PDF here

HUGO the Troll firmly states his popularity in Turkey as Turkish television extends the contract with his inventors the Danish television and games developer ITE for another 12 months.

Since his early debut in Turkey in 1993 HUGO the Troll has been a tremendous success. The Turkish children love his entertaining show and witty remarks, not to mention the funny dialogue between HUGO and the host Tolga Gariboglu. The extension of the contract between ITE and Konsensus TV to produce the HUGO TV Show for another 12 months means HUGO can celebrate his 13th year in Turkey . HUGO has thereby been able to maintain his popularity throughout the entire upbringing of a generation of children and is now ready to move on to the next.

Over the years the producer Konsensus TV has brought the HUGO TV show to 4 different stations including Channel 6, Show TV, Cine TV and ATV but the host Tolga Gariboglu holds something of a record having hosted more than 4000 shows alongside HUGO thus making the two a popular and well known duo. “We are excited about the contract extension with Konsensus TV” says Preben Henrichsen, Manager TV-sales & Merchandise at ITE.

“For many years Turkey has been an important market for us and we hope to continue our cooperation with them for years to come”.

HUGOs popularity can by no means be narrowed down to his TV performance. The markets for related products from the HUGO portfolio are generally growing in Turkey . HUGO games on various formats are a great success distributed through Aral and downloads of both java games and wallpapers for mobile phones has also become a big hit with the Turkish children. ITE has concurrently with the extended TV contract signed a publishing deal with Konsensus TV giving way for maze books, cartoons and a magazine all starring the adventurous troll HUGO. A similar deal for merchandising will provide Turkish children with HUGO merchandise ranging from potato chips to play-dough.

Hugo the Troll gains ground in China
Copenhagen, April 2005

HUGO the Troll will soon entertain millions of Chinese children in the province of Hubei . The Danish interactive TV and games developer ITE has just signed an agreement with their Chinese agent CGC to launch HUGO on Hubei Province TV, which has decided to include the HUGO TV show as part of their children's programming block.

The HUGO TV show is particularly appealing to children in the way that it activates the viewers, making them a part of the show. By calling into the show via telephone or mobile phone, children both get the opportunity to talk to HUGO live, as well as steer him through the exciting and challenging adventures he encounters within the many interactive TV games that are a part of the HUGO TV show.

HUGO made his first appearance on Chinese TV in 2004 when the show was launched in the Guandong Province , thus making Hubei the second province to launch the HUGO TV show in China . “The upcoming launch of the Hugo TV show in the Hubei Province is part of an overall strategy to place HUGO on the TV sets in more than 27 provinces and municipalties” says Søren Sørensen , Managing Director of ITE. He continues, “HUGO is unique in the way he communicates with children in their local language and as many Chinese provinces have local languages and traditions we prefer a local HUGO show that can adapt accordingly”.

Hubei Province has a population of nearly 60 million people, and with the capital Wuhan being one of the major cities in China , this territory represents a very important market for ITE, and will help in generating further sales of the many games and merchandise offerings that the HUGO franchise offers.

STINKY AND STOMPER MAKE THEIR ENTRANCE IN VIETNAM
Copenhagen , March 2005

Vietnamese TV station Ho Chi Minh City Television ready to air second format from ITE.

Children in Vietnam can now look forward to meeting the two amusing, thrill-seeking and highly competitive characters Stinky and Stomper, in a new TV game-show as part of the children's programming block on Ho Chi Minh City Television. Stinky and Stomper, a girl skunk and a boy beaver, is yet another interactive TV format from the developers of HUGO the Troll, the Danish company ITE. The introduction of a second format happens right as the popular interactive HUGO the Troll TV game-show celebrates its 1 year anniversary of broadcasting in Vietnam .

The Stinky and Stomper show is based on the same concept as the HUGO TV show, - allowing the characters to communicate directly with the children through studio dialogue, call-ins and games. However, the Stinky and Stomper show differentiate itself by presenting two-player games in the form of a genuine gender race, as girls and boys compete against each other in the roles of Stinky and Stomper.

The Stinky and Stomper show premiers on May 3 rd 2005 and is scheduled to air two days a week. With the potential of 25 million viewers ITE predicts that the introduction of Stinky and Stomper, along with HUGO, will generate increased sales in video games and merchandise in Vietnam.

Hugo at play on your mobile phone - November 2002

For the first time ever it is now possible to play a game on your mobile phone with a popular and loveable character.
Now that mobile phones have higher resolution colour displays, the largest games developer in Denmark has taken up the challenge and developed a Hugo game for Sony/Ericsson's latest effort - the T300.

Games are a vital issue when young buyers shop for a new mobile phone. And now for the first time they can play with a real celebrity. It is Hugo from the game "The Evil Mirror" that has been further developed for the mobile display. The game has already been on the market for some months for PC, PlayStation, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance and has been extremely popular. The reviews have been excellent and it has reached the top of the game chart (DK). The Game Boy Advance version has now been adjusted for the mobile game.

"I am very pleased with the development in mobile phones these days and find it very promising and exciting. Mobile phones like the Sony/Ericsson T300 introduces a colour screen to the mass market and has the power necessary to act as a real handheld game console. At the same time the price is so low that more people can buy it ", says Christian S. Jensen, Head of Mobile Games, ITE.
The new T300 is the first mobile phone with a built-in game engine. This means that the phone can be used as a game console, and this is why ITE has taken the challenge seriously. He thinks that there now will be a market for quality content for mobile phones - games that can offer the users an experience equal to playing games on other platforms.
" Now it is up to us to take on the challenge and produce content that delivers a good mobile gaming experience," he says.

In the game Scylla the witch has caught Hugo in a magic mirror. She has broken it in three pieces and scattered it throughout the Tricky Troll Forest.
Hugo's three children Rit, Rat and Rut have to collect the pieces of mirror to set Hugo free. If you want to play "The Evil Mirror" on your mobile you buy one world at a time from your supplier. There are three worlds each with 15 levels. You can also start by downloading a free demo that consists of three levels.

Sony Ericsson is very enthusiastic about the Hugo game. They will be presenting it when they together with the Swedish company Mophun, go on a road show to meet all the operators that are customers of the T300.

Jens Feilberg, Head of Marketing Sony Ericsson Nordic, says "Sony Ericsson will focus a lot on the Mophun platform next year and we have already made agreements with several large game distributors (such as THQ & Sony Pictures) on developing games for the platform. Hugo is the jewel in the crown in the Nordic region because the game is already popular on PlayStation, PC and Game Boy. It is surprisingly positive how ITE have been able to develop almost the same gaming experience on our T300 as on Game Boy -- it is amazing…we are looking forward to more fantastic games for a "top of its class" game platform"

"Where are you going?" Well, it doesn't matter, because if you download Hugo on your T300 Sony Ericsson mobile phone you can play "The Evil Mirror" anywhere you want. For the first time ever a known and beloved character is jumping around on your mobile's colour display!

Jens Feilberg, Head of Marketing Norden, Sony Ericsson udtaler."

THE EVIL MIRROR
Will the Hugo family be scattered forever?

Following the introduction of the Game Boy Advance handheld, there has been a natural decline of games specifically targeted at the Game Boy Color platform. According to industry sources, this decline has generated an increased amount of interest in Game Boy Color titles, and ITE has high expectations to the launch of Hugo, The Evil Mirror, targeted at Game Boy Color. Having just barely survived his previous quest in Black Diamond Fever, the always-charming Hugo the Troll is back in yet another exciting adventure! And this time it becomes really tricky!

Heavy wind is blowing in the Tricky Troll forest and rain is poring down. Hugolina has gone into the woods looking for berries, while Hugo is busy baking a cake together with TrolleRit, TrolleRat and TrolleRut, who are waiting for Hugolina to return with the berries for the topping. Somewhere else in the Tricky Troll forest the evil witch Scylla and her loyal companion Don Croco is trying to figure out a way to capture Hugolina and ruin the Hugo family. By accident Don Croco trips and drops a tray containing some glasses. As he trips, the glasses on the tray break apart scattering pieces all over the floor. Scylla looks at the broken glass and smiles "I have come up with an evil plan to get Hugo out of the way once and for all!" A little later that day a knock on the door surprises the Hugo family. But before Hugo realizes what is happening, Scylla has entered the hut and smashed a mirror on Hugo's head! But the mirror does not break; Hugo has been caught into the mirror by an evil spell! Scylla crushes the mirror using the heel of her shoe, and scatters the three mirror pieces throughout the Tricky Troll forest! Hugo has been captured and the only chance of saving him is to find all the scattered pieces before it is too late!

Hugo, The Evil Mirror is an action adventure game exploiting the Game Boy Color to its limits! In The Evil Mirror, you play the part of TrolleRit, TrolleRat and TrolleRut on a quest to save Hugo. The game features an impressive 60 levels divided into three worlds, and nasty enemies guard each world! With its three levels of difficulty, The Evil Mirror provides endless hours of platform-fun! Use the freeze-gun to stun the baddies into ice cubes and push them over the edges to defeat the monsters inside. And be very careful with those monsters, some of them actually have shields to protect themselves, and needs to be frozen from behind! You can also combine ice cubes with frozen monsters to reveal even bigger and nastier monsters with better power-ups! Along the adventure you can enhance your speed by finding "running shoes", and finding a "snow flake" upgrades the freeze-gun to perform even better! On later levels there are baddie-spawners that needs to be taken out before dealing with the monsters, but luckily you can pick-up a "bomb" that destroys them instantly. Finding a "star" reveals a level-code enabling you to restart the game from the position where you found it! The Evil Mirror introduces an extra stress factor - time. Complete the level before time runs out or the baddies get really angry and aggressive. Luckily you can pick up an "hourglass" to extend the time available. There is tons of fun and adventure in The Evil Mirror, the question is, are you brave enough to take upon you this daring quest?

Hugo is hanging out with his friends the Kiku’s. They are sitting around a fireplace enjoying the
evening - laughing, sharing wonderful moments and roasting sausages together! Life has
never been more peaceful and beautiful … but then … all of a sudden the frogs nearby the
swamp are making a racket, spoiling the happiness! Silence follows … something has
happened! Oh no … its trouble! Two of Don Croco soldiers sail away with all the frogs in a big
net! The frogs have been captured and no doubt the soldiers will turn the poor frogs into a
banquet unless … unless … Hugo rescues them!!!

Hugo – Frog Fighter is an action-puzzle game which brings memories back to the original
Frogger game developed by Konami and published by Parker Brother in 1981. Frog Fighter is
stunning in its simplicity but also frighteningly addictive. Your task is to help Hugo rescue the
captured frogs from Jungle Island. And don’t for a second think that this is an easy task! The
original Frogger is a walk in the park compared to Frog Fighter, where the gameplay consists
of navigating through 19 challenging levels, grabbing the keys, saving the frogs by opening the
cages and escaping through the exit! It sounds simple but in reality it has never been more
challenging and more fun to save frogs; Don’t fall into the water, don’t touch the baddies and
don’t make one mistake or Hugo is history!

Ribbet! Ribbet! Are you frog – oops - Troll enough to save the poor frogs from being turned
into a barbeque? Are you daring enough to help Hugo on his adventure by navigating through
the Swamp, Jungle, Crystal Grotto and Factory ultimately facing the evil Don Croco himself?
You must be –

Hugo needs your help!

Hugo – Frog Fighter is targeted at the younger audience aged 6 years and older, but the game
is challenging enough to keep even the most hardened gamer occupied for a long time! So
stop wasting your time – help Hugo save those helpless poor froggies!

Venture capital to Danish game producer
Olicom A/S 50 percent holding in Danish game producer ITE ApS

Copenhagen, July 30 2001
In a recent transaction the Danish venture capital firm Olicom A/S has acquired a 50 percent holding in the Danish game producer Interactive Television Entertainment ApS.

ITE, which in 2000 had net sales of DKK 66 million (USD 7.5 million), is especially known for its Hugo game character. Hugo games are today present in more than 30 geographical markets where ITE's world-leading interactive TV concept supports the sale of its games. More than four million copies of Hugo games have been sold to multiple game platforms, including PC, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Game Boy, Set Top Boxes based on the Open TV standard and Internet portals.

The game market is expected to experience substantial growth as new and more powerful versions of existing game platforms are released and new platforms such as mobile phones and handheld computers gain popularity. ITE is one of the few companies that possess the know-how and technology for developing multi-platform games and ITE expects to be able to capitalize on this advantage by forging strategic partnerships with other game vendors who are focused on a single platform.

"ITE has proven its technical and creative skills on every well-known game platform for a number of years, but Olicom also see great potential in ITE entering the market for entertainment on mobile phones and other handheld devices. Already now, you can find a number of successful entertainment concepts that combine the TV and the mobile phone media," says Boje Rinhart, President and Chief Executive Officer of Olicom, who will join ITE's Board of Directors as Chairman.

"ITE looks forward to work with Olicom to exploit the new games platforms and to create new sources of revenue. ITE has the critical mass to be a leading provider of game content across all major emerging games platforms and we have the creative talent to invent multi-platform game concepts," says Søren Sørensen, new President and CEO of ITE.
